Serving With Joy: The Heart of True Worship

Many people associate worship only with singing songs in church, but true worship extends far beyond music. Worship is a lifestyle. Romans 12:1 calls us to “offer our bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.”

Serving others is one of the most powerful acts of worship. When we serve with joy, we reflect the heart of Christ, who came not to be served but to serve (Mark 10:45). Whether it’s greeting someone at the door, helping set up chairs, cooking for a family in need, or mentoring a young believer, service is worship in action.

At Hope Highway Church, we see serving as both a privilege and a responsibility. It is through service that we create an atmosphere of love and belonging. Every small act of kindness becomes a testimony that points people back to Jesus.

Serving with joy is not about recognition or reward—it’s about gratitude. It’s about saying, “Lord, all that I am and all that I have belongs to You.” When we serve with that heart, not only are others blessed, but we ourselves grow deeper in Christ’s likeness.

So, where is God calling you to serve today? Ask Him, and then step forward in joyful obedience. You’ll discover that serving others is one of the most fulfilling ways to worship the Lord.
